Job description
Leeds Law School is seeking an exceptional academic leader to take on the role of Course Director – Postgraduate Academic within Leeds Law School.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of postgraduate education in a dynamic, ambitious, and student-focused law school. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for a suite of taught postgraduate courses, ensuring an outstanding student experience and the highest academic standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing course direction, organisation, and management to deliver excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Leading curriculum design and development, aligned with the needs of students and the profession.
* Monitoring and enhancing course performance through quality assurance processes, with particular focus on recruitment, progression, achievement, student satisfaction, and graduate employability.
* Acting as a key liaison with professional, statutory, and regulatory bodies where appropriate.
* Supporting and guiding students through effective academic advice and pastoral support.
We are looking for candidates who:
* Hold an academic qualification in Law (LLB or GDL) and a doctorate in a relevant subject.
* Are Fellows of the Higher Education Academy (or equivalent)
* Have significant experience of course or programme leadership, teaching excellence, and doctoral supervision.
* Possess a strong research and publication record and can contribute to REF 2029.
* Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, and organisational skills.
