This is an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager within the largest logistics and distribution network in the UK! Working within the Distribution & Fulfilment category, you will collaborate closely with internal colleagues and external partners to meet Tesco Group logistics requirements across Tesco, Booker Retail and Cash & Carry, One Stop, Best Food Logistics, and Venus Wines. This role delivers value for money and drives efficiency throughout the procurement life cycle. You will partner with colleagues to ensure Tesco has a robust procurement strategy; one that balances the needs of the business with health and safety requirements, legal compliance, advancing technology, total cost of ownership and environmental challenges. Develop and deliver sub‑category plans aligned to Category Plans by being innovative and leveraging emerging industry technologies and Tesco environmental targets, in collaboration with various cross‑functional colleagues. Deliver high savings targets through the implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing the best value for Tesco, aligned back to Category Plans covering both Capex and Opex spend. Deliver cost savings plans contributing to Save to Invest targets, consistently tracking and reporting on savings with forecast accuracy, working to the agreed processes. Create RFP/RFI’s/e‑auctions through to conclusion, ensuring open and fair competition throughout the process. Build strong internal relationships and develop new and existing supplier relationships to influence and ensure continued suitability, creating greater value across the organisation. Review existing and potential new suppliers and assess their suitability to supply Tesco Group, minimising risk and optimising service, with strong SRM through leading/participating in supplier reviews.
