#### RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Community Energy Advisor to join us on a fixed-term basis as part of the GovanCommunity Energy Team who provide education and information on all aspects of energy advice to localresidents.The key aims of the post will be to support our Govan residents to live in a warm and comfortable home at the lowestpossible cost by maximising opportunities to reduce energy consumption and minimise heat loss. It will beessential that the candidates have a strong community presence and are able to build working relationships withlocal partners.Duties and Responsibilities include:• Educating people about their household energy consumption, heating controls and their energy bills• Providing advice on fuel debt, benefit claims, income maximisation, advice on fuel tariffs, payment options andenergy efficiency measures• Carrying out home visits to gather information on energy use and provide advice on reducing energy consumption• Analyse data from iOpt sensors on temperature, energy use and air quality within a range of properties types anduse this data to advice people living in similar properties on how to heat their homes.• Collecting data on health and wellbeing• Work with the local community to deliver workshops on the outcomes of the service.The GEL Partnership consisting of Govan, Elderpark and Linthouse Housing Associations, are seeking someone who hasexcellent communication skills, who can demonstrate empathy and use their problem solving skills to deliver adynamic customer focussed service. The Recovery Employability Service is part of theElevate Employability project within Glasgow Council on Alcohol and the Employment Advisor will prepareparticipants for further training, education or work and support them through the job search, application andinterview process; providing them with skills, motivation, and confidence to move into suitable sustainableemployment.Elevate Employability is a service which aims to support people in recovery from drug and/or alcohol use intovolunteering, training, education and/or employment. We are delighted that we are now able to extend the serviceto include aftercare provision for those in work to include those affected by poor mental health or haveexperience of homelessness or the criminal justice service as well as those in recovery.The Employment Advisor will make a real impact to individuals’ day to day lives as they uniquely tailor theirpersonal development, offer emotional and practical support and set realistic goals as part of their journey toemployability opportunities.The Employment Advisor will report to the Service Manager – Employability.This post requires a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership - successful applicants will be requiredto join the PVG Scheme.Key Responsibilities of the Employment Advisor:* Deliver performance targets for supporting people who are in recovery to sustain their employment* Use the Elevate-Glasgow team and wider partner agencies as a support network to develop a comprehensive support plan for each individual* Provide personalised support assisting participants who are in recovery to find and sustain in work and provide information as well as advice and guidance on the job search, application, and interview process* Provide support through a variety of activities including regular telephone contact, face to face meetings, virtual mediums, mentoring, job coaching and group activity.* Assist participants in their search for employment which match participants’ skills, experience and aspirations and in looking for opportunities to work towards longer term
