For over 20 years the company has successfully tendered for a variety of welfare to work programmes, securing funding from several sources including Skills Development Scotland and the Department for Work and Pensions as well as grant funding from the Big Lottery and European Structural Funds, to support South Lanarkshire residents and businesses.
Throughout South Lanarkshire, Routes to Work South delivers services to young people and adults supported by Scottish Government’s No One Left Behind (NOLB) and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?
As Employment Advisor your role will be to establish and maintain excellent relationships with clients, employers and partner organisations, understanding their needs, identifying and linking training, employment, placement and development opportunities. You will work with all client groups including youths, adults and those further removed from the labour market, supporting them throughout the different stages of their journey. The ideal candidate(s) will be target driven, motivated, enthusiastic, and an excellent communicator able to build strong relationships and meet KPI’s with experience in a similar role.
MAIN AIMS:
1. To achieve targets and KPI's to support clients to progress and sustain employment.
2. To promote and encourage key client groups to engage in RTWS services.
3. To actively manage a caseload of clients with a range of barriers who are at different stages of their employability journey, provide support and access to health and well-being interventions, training opportunities, match them to suitable vacancies and progress them into sustainable employment.
4. To proactively work with clients and employers to increase the range and number of job opportunities available for clients.
5. To deliver a range of 1-2-1 and group support sessions tailored to meet customer needs.
6. To meet ongoing contractual compliance requirements including accurately completing all paperwork and input to a bespoke database.
DUTIES:
7. To deliver personal targets and KPI's and contribute to team targets and KPI's in line with the performance management framework.
8. Develop an individual Action Plan for all clients that will be regularly reviewed to support clients to overcome barriers to employment.
9. Completing training needs analysis ensuring interventions are tailored to clients needs and aspirations.
10. Working imaginatively and flexibly, actively manage and support a caseload of participants and support and progress them into sustainable employment.
11. To work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure the client’s journey is fully supported towards sustaining unsupported employment, including identifying and facilitating work placements.
12. Establish and maintain good working relationships with employers, partners and all stakeholders providing regular updates on client progress as appropriate.
13. Maintain a good understanding of local vacancies in order to effectively match clients to suitable vacancies/work placements and market client’s to employers.
14. Ensure auditable documentation including job outcome verifications are completed and filed accordingly.
15. Capture and record accurate information and input it into bespoke database in line with company quality standard.
16. Deliver and maintain a quality service at all times in line with RTWS Customer Service Standards Policy and Procedures.
17. Be aware of the confidential nature of information received, and act at all times within the boundaries of GDPR.
18. Carry out other duties in line with organisational requirements.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Essential
19. A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar client facing role
20. Ability to match clients to suitable vacancies/opportunities and progress them into sustainable employment
21. Target and performance driven to achieve KPI’s
22. Ability to manage and support a caseload and achieve targets for progression
23. Ability to encourage, persuade and motivate
24. Knowledge of barriers facing customers entering employment, training or education.
25. Knowledge of support services/local partner agencies for clients furthest removed from the labour market.
26. Flexibility to cope with the varying demands of the role and achieve the desired results
27. Ability to problem solve and respond appropriately to a variety of situations
28. Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
29. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
30. Good organisational skills
31. IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office and Outlook
32. Full driving licence and own transport
