We are recruiting a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with ASD in a Gateshead primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity within SEND support jobs in Gateshead.
About the role:
You’ll support pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them navigate the school day and access learning in a way that works for them.
What your day-to-day will look like:
* Supporting pupils with structured routines and visual timetables
* Helping manage sensory needs and transitions
* Encouraging communication and social interaction
* Working closely with teaching staff and SENCO
* Creating a calm and supportive environment
What we’re looking for:
* A patient, consistent, and understanding approach
* Interest in autism and SEND support
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to remain calm and adaptable
Working hours:
* Full-time
* 8:30am – 3:30pm
* Term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
