The Role: Trainee Project Engineer
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Project Engineer to join a leading manufacturer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to build a career in engineering project management within a supportive and dynamic team.
This full-time, permanent role based in the UK will provide hands-on experience and structured training, giving you the opportunity to work closely with senior engineers and contribute to exciting projects. As a Trainee Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of customer projects both in the office and occasionally on-site across the UK and overseas.
Main Responsibilities (Trainee Project Engineer):
• Support senior project engineers in managing projects from order to completion
• Assist with project scope development and technical documentation
• Help prepare project schedules, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and drawings
• Support the coordination of logistics, packing, shipping, and export documentation
• Participate in equipment installation and testing activities (FATs and SATs)
• Prepare RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for site work
• Assist in producing training materials and customer handover packs
• Gain exposure to budget tracking and project cost awareness
Skills/Experience (Trainee Project Engineer):
• Strong interest in engineering and project delivery
• Confident communicator with the ability to work across teams
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative
• Organised with good attention to detail
• Competent in Microsoft Office; MS Project or AutoCAD experience is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles is desirable
• Willingness to travel in the UK and abroad
• Full UK driving licence preferred (or willingness to work towards one)
