We Build Recruitment are on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor based in or around Rotherham to join a growing Painting & Decorating company.
Projects are generally commercial or industrial often forming larger parts of national framework agreements. Previous examples cover multiple different schools, offices, hotels and also shops. A smaller area of the business is residential apartment buildings.
The salary is negotiable and dependant on experience and they are willing to be very flexible in what they're looking for. Should you already be experienced in a Painting & Decorating business, then they will consider a salary up to £50,000 - £55,000. However, should you be more junior, they will be looking at a salary of £30,000 - £45,000.
By junior sadly we don't mean trainee, you must have already completed your training and be a year or two into your career.
Job Role:
* Manage projects through the entire project lifecycle.
* Prepare estimates, cost plans and tender documentation using various forms of measurement and contracts.
* Be comfortable measuring schedules of works and bills of quantities/activity schedule production.
* Manage and prepare both tender and contract documentation.
* Support and input into procurement and tendering processes and evaluation/award of contracts.
* Attend client and progress meetings and provide input and support to the project.
* Price and prepare financial reports and cashflow forecasts throughout the duration of contracts and provide general post contract cost management and control.
* Provide input into the financial aspects of change management.
* Carry out re-measurement of quantities with contractors if necessary and prepare and agree final accounts and claims. Prepare final accounts for clients that are suitable for audit.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor (minimum 1 year fully qualified)
* You must have prior experience with painting & Decorating packages, even if only as a small part of a larger contract
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Strong time management skills to ensure you meet agreed deadlines
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite
