We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate home manager to join the management team at Hestia Homes for Children. As the Home Manager you are responsible for the smooth running of the children's home, under the direction of the Registered Manager.
As the home manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the level of care and support is to an outstanding level.

We two children's homes in Reading, supporting children and young people aged 8-18 with a diagnosis of a learning disability and/ or autism. Due to the needs of our young people, they can display behaviours that challenge.
We support the young people with their daily lives and routines, teach them important life skills, act as a positive role model, and most importantly, have lots of fun
We are ambitious about the work we do and continually drive to improve the service.
Duties
* To be involved in the development of the home and service provided, ensuring a high quality of care is delivered, in line with the Children's Home Regulations
* Coordinate and monitor staffing levels within the home to ensure individual need is met
* To be involved in the home's selection and recruitment process
* Alongside the Registered Manager, monitor finances and budgets to ensure financial viability of the home
* To organise, deliver and coordinate induction, supervision, appraisal and support to individual staff, including coaching and role modelling on shift
* To be part of an on-call system outside of designated hours
* Ensure all staff understand and implement the relevant safeguarding, care and health and safety policies
* Liaise with professionals and key stakeholders, attending and chairing meetings as required
* Review the implementation of care plans
Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent
* Willing to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
* A working knowledge of relevant legislation such as The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, The Children's Act 2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
* A minimum of 3 years of working in a residential childcare setting or equivalent provision.
* A minimum of 1 year in a management role (assistant or deputy)
* The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
* A strong 'can do' attitude and positive work ethic
* The desire to change young people's lives
You will also form part of the safeguarding and oncall team, providing 24/7 support to the homes.
We are open to the option of a 4 day working week to suit individual needs.
