Make your mark for patients
Senior Scientist – CADD, Digital Antibody Design
We are looking for a top-class candidate who is passionate about science, self-motivated, with excellent team working skills to join our Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) team based in our UK offices in Slough (moving to our modern new site in Windlesham in 2027).
About the role
You will develop and apply artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning technologies, and physics-based methods in antibody drug discovery. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of antibody drug discovery, computer-aided drug design, and will apply AI and advanced computational algorithms to address challenges in modern antibody discovery.
Who you’ll work with
You will work in the global CADD team alongside multidisciplinary project teams from Antibody Discovery and Development, Structural Biology, Immunology, Data Science and IT.
What you’ll do
1. Apply modern computational methodologies to design novel antibodies and related protein formats that have the potential to change patients’ lives.
2. Collaborate proactively and effectively with colleagues across multiple departments, as well as with external partners
3. Establish a high level of innovation to proactively implement scientific and technological advancement to drive drug discovery effectiveness and efficiency, especially at the intersection of AI/machine learning and molecular design.
4. Keep pace with the fast-changing environment with recommendations for new technologies, ways of working, and driving new collaborations.
5. Define and monitor progress across projects, presenting regularly on the progress, impact and delivery to multi-disciplinary teams.
6. Represent functional teams and influencing scientific and operational strategy, resource use and project execution. Offer constructive challenge and champion the continuous application and improvement of CADD methodologies to enhance the drug discovery process.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
7. A PhD (or equivalent) focused on antibodies or protein design with a strong emphasis on applying or developing computational methods.
8. Industrial or post-doctoral experience in the field of computational antibody or protein design (2+ years)
9. Deep understanding of modern AI based technologies such as co-folding, applied to both structure prediction and property prediction.
10. Expertise in structure-based and sequence-based molecular design, including generative AI methodologies applied to antibody or general protein complexes.
11. Knowledge of modern antibody discovery processes and technologies.
12. Strong track record of scientific publications and patents.
13. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and skilled in communicating science across a wide variety of disciplines.
Are you ready to ‘go beyond’ to create value and make your mark for patients? If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you!
