Learning Disability clinician within the Learning Disability Service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a graduate qualified health professional to join our dynamic Learning Disability service.
Driven by the principles underpinning the national CYP-IAPT programme, the service provides the latest in evidence-based NICE compliant psychological interventions to children, young people, and their families experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties. You will be a highly motivated and innovative individual with clinical experience working with children and young people.
Main duties of the job
As a key part of our Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Service, the post holder will undertake CAMHS assessments of children and young people up to age 18 to inform formulation, diagnosis and recommendations for treatment within a spectrum of mental health presentations. You will have a caseload, offering evidence-based interventions to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs and their families.
You must demonstrate an interest in multi-agency and multi-disciplinary work and be familiar with evidence-based practice in children’s mental health. There are excellent opportunities for CPD, in-service teaching, and supervision within the team and the Trust.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Successful completion of a graduate training (e.g. nursing, social work, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy)
* To be eligible for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (e.g. HCPC, NMC)
Experience
* Experience of working with patients with neurodevelopmental and learning disabilities
* Experience of carrying out generic assessment with other colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of providing clinical interventions in different cultural contexts
