Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Onshore Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor to play a key role on a major infrastructure energy project. This is a hands-on site-based position where you will act as the vital link between on-site contractors, commissioning management, and engineering support teams.
You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring safe, high-quality installation and commissioning of complex electrical and control systems — shaping progress, reducing risk, and enabling a smooth transition into operational service.
Key Purpose of the Role
1. Act as the on-site focal point for electrical installation and commissioning activities
2. Provide clear, fact-based insight into progress, quality, safety, and risk
3. Drive a strong safety culture while maintaining momentum and quality
4. Enable informed decision-making through structured reporting and collaboration
Key Responsibilities
5. Facilitate alignment meetings between site teams and back-office engineers
6. Act as a role model for safe behaviour, intervening where necessary
7. Supervise contractors across electrical installation, outfitting, and commissioning
8. Monitor quality and progress, identifying risks and proposing mitigations
9. Coordinate interfaces where multiple contractors are present on site
10. Support commissioning management with accurate observations and forecasts
11. Oversee mechanical completion and readiness for handover to operations
Core Tasks
12. Review and witness contractor ITPs and test procedures (FAT, SAT, SIT)
13. Supervise delivery, handling, installation, termination, and testing of equipment and cables
14. Ensure compliance with Critical to Functionality (CtF) and Critical to Quality (CtQ) standards
15. Execute Low Voltage and High Voltage Authorised Person duties (LV AP / HV AP)
16. Manage electrical safety, including lock-out/tag-out and energisation checks
17. Conduct inspections and testing prior to final handover
18. Capture lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities

20. Daily input into site progress reports and commissioning registers
21. Closed-out punches and non-conformances across electrical systems
22. Clear safety observations and improvement actions
23. Constructive lessons learned to support future project delivery
Authority
24. Authority to accept or reject installation, test, and commissioning activities in line with contractual and project requirements
Qualifications
You’ll be a confident, site-experienced supervisor who is comfortable balancing safety, quality, and delivery pressure in complex project environments.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
25. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an engineering-related discipline
26. Proven experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of:HV & LV electrical systemsElectromechanical and multidiscipline dynamic systemsControl, SCADA, communications, and telecoms systems
27. Strong contractor management and site coordination skills
Mandatory Certifications:
28. UK Offshore/Onshore Medical + Chester Step Test
29. GWO Training (BST, BTT, Enhanced First Aid, Control of Hazardous Energies, High Voltage)
30. LV / HV Authorised Person experience
