We are recruiting for a Management Accountant (part qualified) to join our small, friendly and dedicated finance team on a permanent basis.
The Management Accountant will be working in the Head Office of a Europe wide group of companies. The finance team provides our business with financial and management information for decision making of the commercial activities, preparing financial reports for the UK and European businesses of the group and providing consolidated financial information.
The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for production of timely, reliable management information. The role will support the senior Management Accountant and Finance Director in the development and automation of financial reporting and management processes.
Due to the nature of a small finance function, there will be elements of both ‘hands-on’ and strategic work, with the role offering exposure to a broad range of financial management and commercial activities.
This specification is not exclusive, and you will be required to undertake any other tasks and duties that it is reasonable for a Management Accountant to perform.
The role has no direct line management responsibilities but requires the individual to work closely with all team members and the Finance Director and Managing Director.
This position reports to the Finance Director.
The role is based at our head office in Croydon and is fully office based, Monday to Friday.
You will have experience in the following activities:
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Preparation of payroll journals and processing
Preparation and submission of VAT returns
Variance analysis and draft commentaries on financial performance and overheads to date
P&L and cost centre analysis for performance reports
Weekly / monthly cashflow report and projections
Quarterly banking covenants reporting
Assistance in year-end accounts preparation and audit assistance; liaising with external auditors as required.
Support the preparation of annual budget and medium term plans
Providing cover and support for credit control and purchase ledger functions
Supporting the Finance Director in other projects as required
To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:
Prior experience of preparing management accounts from trial balance
Exposure to accounting systems (sage or sap would be helpful but not essential)
Ability to work under own initiative
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Computer literate (Windows Office Software packages)
