The Defendant Litigator role exists to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective handling of litigated Defendant Motor Damage claims in line with legal, regulatory and client requirements. The role provides technical expertise and ownership of complex litigation, ensuring cases are progressed proactively and resolved efficiently.
Reporting to a Team Leader, you will defend litigated motor‑damage claims from receipt of proceedings to settlement or final hearing. You will handle high‑quality claims effectively and within agreed timescales, ensure consistent compliance with legal, regulatory and internal requirements and deliver clear, defensible case strategies that balance customer outcomes and cost effectiveness. You will provide positive customer experience supported by timely, transparent communication and contribute to improved team capability, consistency and efficiency.
Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or CILEx with a current practising certificate and the right to conduct litigation. Proven experience in civil litigation, ideally within motor‑damage or insurance‑related matters. Road‑traffic accident experience is preferred but not essential. Strong technical capability in drafting, negotiation and case management and sound commercial judgement.
