An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join our Hospiceat Home team to provide care and support to patients with terminalillnesses, whilst also offering vital emotional support for their families
As a registered nurse you wouldcover a combination of night shifts either by providing one to one care inpatients homes or work on the Roaming Service which offers more flexible careand symptom management to patients referred to the Hospice at Home service.
In return, you will have the opportunity to access a generous portfolioof training and education that will enable you to comply with NMC Revalidation.You will be able to access management support, clinical supervision, and anoccupational pension scheme (NHS Pension Scheme rights are preserved).

Our departmental objectives are to provide a nursing service,which is available 7 nights a week, for people with a limited life expectancy,to enable them to remain at home if that is their wish.
To provide high quality palliative care and support in conjunctionwith the Primary Health Care Teams, offering skilled nursing care to those in theterminal phase of their illness, or with chronic incurable conditions.
To support and encourage the sharing knowledgeand skills withing the team.

Essential
1. 2 years minimum post registration experience
2. Experience of providing palliative care.
3. Up to date evidence-based knowledge of current end of life care
Desirable
4. Experience of providing community palliative care.
5. Experience in bereavement support

6. Robust emotional resilience to manage exposure to dying people and family/carer distress.
7. Ability to demonstrate a professional and calm manner with an empathetic personality.
8. Act as patients advocate
9. Ability to travel across the geographical area of South Derbyshire and South Nottinghamshire areas according to care needs.
10. Own car and driving licence and be able to drive a manual and automatic car.
