As such, we are only able to consider applicants who are currently based in London. About the Role: As a Development and Events Specialist, youll be at the heart of our fundraising efforts, contributing to the growth and sustainability of EMpower UK. Youll provide essential support across a range of activities, from donor stewardship and event coordination to data management and operational support. Key Responsibilities: Donor Stewardship s Development: • Assist in the stewardship of key stakeholders, including Board Directors, Leadership Council, and major donors, ensuring exceptional relationship management. • Lead the development and growth of EMpower UKs Next Gen cohort (donors giving £2,000- £3,000 annually), creating engaging experiences and fostering long-term support. • Contribute to the creation of compelling marketing materials, pitch decks, donor reports, and other resources to effectively communicate EMpower’s impact. • Support the development of engaging content for our online platforms and newsletters, including "Quick Take" and "Donor Journey," to showcase EMpowers work. • Proactively engage with donors to enhance retention through regular communication and personalized interactions. • Serve as a primary point of contact for diverse supporters, delivering a professional and positive experience. • Facilitate the donation process through various UK payment channels. Event Coordination • Support the planning and execution of flagship fundraising events, such as the Annual Gala Dinner and Summer Drinks. • Organize cultivation and outreach events, including salon dinners, informal gatherings, and webinars, to expand awareness and engagement. • Collaborate with the Global Development team to lead the design and delivery of our main online campaign, "Journey Around the World." • Support corporate partners in delivering challenge events, including setting fundraising targets and creating resources. • Coordinate with event suppliers, including venues, caterers, and technical providers. Information Management • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in our CRM database (Salesforce), using data analysis to improve donor engagement and retention. • Manage the fundraising database, ensuring timely processing of donations and acknowledgments. • Compile performance data for fundraising activities, strategic development, and Board reports. • Ensure data processing complies with GDPR regulations. Finance and Operations • Collaborate with the finance team to administer donation and expense reporting for the UK office, including record-keeping, bookkeeping, and audit support. • Perform administrative duties, including managing office supplies, liaising with service providers, and supporting efficient office operations including being point of contact for our landlord. • Provide logistical support, arrange meetings, and take minutes as needed. Other areas • Contribute to broader fundraising efforts and identify new opportunities for EMpower. • Represent EMpower at external forums, networks and meetings Qualifications: Essential: • At least 2 year’s work experience in an office environment, ideally in philanthropy or the nonprofit sector. • Events co-ordination experience would be highly preferred. • Commitment to EMpower’s mission, interest in youth development and/or effective global philanthropy • Strong interpersonal communication skills with culturally diverse audiences and different personalities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and comfortable with learning new database technologies. Experience using Salesforce is a plus. • Self-starter; highly organized; proven ability to work independently, anticipate, prioritize, complete multiple projects and meet deadlines, with consistent attention to detail • Ability to work independently with a high degree of judgment and professionalism, as well as virtually with a team across multiple time zones Compensation and Benefits EMpower offers competitive wages, benefits, and growth opportunities consistent with industry standards.
