As our RMW Quality Lab Leader, you will manage the Quality Department activity, ensuring that compliant product is manufactured to exacting standards at minimum cost. Procedures managed and developed to conform with company safety standards, product regulations, and manufacturing guidelines whilst adhering to all environmental and energy standards.
What you’ll be doing…
* To manage and develop an effective and efficient lab testing facility
* To ensure testing and recording keeping in order to maintain current accreditations from various notified bodies such as BSI, BBA etc
* Implement projects to ensure that new certification requirements are met in the shortest time
* Lead the development of policies, processes and procedures to assure product quality standards
* To prepare for and participate in audits from external notified bodies
* To compile, measure and analyse process capability data, models and process improvements - communicate and implement with production operatives.
* To manage and maintain the digital platforms used within the quality department
* Conduct quality system and process reviews.
* To ensure that personnel carry out their duties in a safe and effective manner, that factory production control requirements are met and that training requirements are met
* Ensure all calibrations are completed and kept up to date.
* To manage the quarantine register of products and liaise with the warehouse manager to facilitate the reworking and disposal of product.
* Participate in the customer complaint process, analyse and report on customer returns to identify problems/solutions using root cause & effect problem solving methods to determine and implement solutions working with the production process and engineering team to prevent recurrence.
* To ensure preventive and corrective actions are implemented.
* To liaise with central product and process development department to maximise the success of new product/process trials, including implementing new test processes.
* To provide monthly quality statistics to the Process and Quality Manager KPI’s
* Create and publish quality related information for communication boards & screens
* Support plant trials ensuring that all required trial paperwork is complete and recorded to complete quality data analysis.
* Provide education and coaching on the Quality Management System and further the development of operators working in the quality department.
