About The Role
We're looking for a strategic, child centred Social Worker leader to join us as Group Head of Foster Carer Recruitment. This pivotal national role will oversee our fostering Panel and Assessment function, ensuring we recruit, assess, and retain the highest quality foster carers.
You'll play a key role in shaping policy, governance, and service development across the country, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and fostering standards in both England and Wales. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional outcomes for children in care.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the national Panel and Assessment function, aligning with Compass's mission and fostering standards.
* Ensure a high-performing pipeline of approved foster carers to support business growth.
* Provide strategic leadership in safeguarding, quality assurance, and compliance.
* Manage budgets, performance metrics, and monitoring systems to drive informed decisions.
* Line manage key teams and provide high-quality supervision and development.
* Collaborate across departments to embed recruitment and retention strategies.
* Represent Compass at senior forums, contributing to agency-wide decisions and initiatives.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
* Proven leadership experience within fostering, assessment, or children's services.
* Deep understanding of Ofsted and CIW regulatory frameworks and fostering legislation.
* Experience managing teams, implementing policies, and driving continuous improvement.
* Passion for safeguarding, equity, and improving outcomes for children.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Confidence to work at Board level and represent the function nationally.
