Carpentry and Joinery Assessor
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: Up to £34,200 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking a motivated and learner-focused Carpentry and Joinery Assessor to manage and support a caseload of apprentices through to successful completion of their Apprenticeship Standards and End Point Assessment.
In this role, you will deliver inductions and initial assessments, working closely with employers to develop tailored individual learning plans. You will provide high-quality information, advice and guidance to ensure apprentices achieve their SMART objectives on time, while maintaining a strong focus on practical skills, workplace competence, and industry standards.
You will build and maintain effective relationships with employers and external partners, supporting learner recruitment, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to the delivery of apprenticeships and, where required, full-cost courses such as NVQs. Working collaboratively within the team, you will design structured schemes of work, carry out regular progress reviews, meet contractual performance targets, and create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What do you need?
Level 3 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery (essential)
TAQA, CAVA or A1 Assessor Award (essential – applications without this cannot be considered)
Experience assessing apprentices within Carpentry and Joinery
Strong understanding of Apprenticeship Standards and End Point Assessment
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to build relationships with employers and support learners effectively
Experience in Management/Business Administration assessing (MSA) is desirable but not essential Next steps
