Join a team dedicated to veterinary excellence at Hamilton Specialist Referrals, where we are seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to support our inpatient care service on a 1-in-2 weekends basis. This will consist of 2 daytime 13-hour shifts.

Hamilton Specialist Referrals is a Specialist led, purpose built, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital which provides the latest in cutting edge, specialist treatments for cats and dogs, supported by an exceptional rehabilitation and physiotherapy facility. Located in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, within easy reach of London, Oxford, the Chilterns, and Cotswolds. The hospital is five minutes from the M40 and located near major airports. We deliver world-class clinical services within Neurology, Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Soft tissue surgery, Oncology and Anaesthesia, with a clear focus on recruiting the people that make that a reality. The hospital is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and facilities include on-site 1.5T MRI and CT scanner suites, a variety of joint replacement systems, electrodiagnostics, and a full complement of the latest radiography and arthroscopy equipment.
The Weekend Schedule
The role is a 1 in 2 weekends working position looking after our inpatients across multiple disciplines within the hospital. You will liaise with our specialists who work on call to manage inpatient care and support the acceptance of new cases into the hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of referral cases and work alongside an exceptional team.
Applicant Requirements
* Applicants should have prior OOH and sole charge experience and ideally experience working within a referral hospital setting.
* Applicants should be proactive, enthusiastic team players, who use their own initiative and should be highly self-motivated. The ability to work independently as well as being a strong team player, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi-task with a flexible approach to working are essential.
* Candidates wishing to apply should be MRCVS or MRCVS eligible and be eligible to work in the UK independently or under a Visa Sponsorship, we do also offer a temp visa for this role. For non-native English speakers, evidence of competency in speaking English, as determined by a formal qualification in English (such as IELTS or TOEFL) is desirable.
