Reeson is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and motivated Deputy Manager to support the running of a new 2-bed residential children's home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Crewe
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead a dedicated team of support workers. You will play a vital role in ensuring the emotional, social, and physical well-being of the young people in our care, while maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities
To meet the needs of children through:
1. Ensuring that each young person has an allocated key worker
2. Ensuring that each member of staff is aware of each child's relevant plan's and their responsibilities for its implementation
3. Carrying out the role of "on-call manager" to provide OOH support for the home, on a rota basis
4. Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people
5. Undertaking direct work with young people and acting as an appropriate role model
6. Assist in developing systems in which young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive
7. Maintaining accurate written records to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place
8. Working in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
9. Chairing children's meetings and facilitating consultation with young people generally
10. Acting as an appropriate adult
Requirements:
11. Secondary education with a good standard of literacy and numeracy
12. Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
13. Willingness to complete Diploma L5 L&M in H&SC
14. Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS
15. Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues
16. Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation
17. Team-building skills
18. Supervision skills
19. Ability to manage teams effectively
20. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
21. Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour.
