Newstaff Employment is hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher in Milton Keynes to cover maternity leave from February until the end of the academic year, where you will lead a vibrant class and deliver engaging lessons that build strong foundations in early learning.
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £35, – £45, per annum (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
1. Take full responsibility for teaching a Year 1 class throughout the contract
2. Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
3. Create a positive and engaging classroom environment so pupils feel confident and motivated
4. Track progress regularly; as a result, you adapt teaching to support individual needs
5. Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
6. Work closely with the wider team to maintain high teaching standards
Essential Skills & Experience
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
8. Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1
9. Strong understanding of phonics and early years development
10. Confident classroom management skills
11. Ability to inspire young learners and build their confidence
12. Team-focused approach with excellent communication skills
