Overview
There is an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to support our services at Bridport Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving a high standard of cleanliness in a clinical ward based environment and non-clinical areas throughout the main hospital, ensuring that a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained. Full on-site training is provided and PPE provision is included.
This post is 18 hours, including a half an hour unpaid break. The proposed rota is: Monday - Wednesday 07:00-13:30. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Main duties / Responsibilities
* Vacuuming, mopping, general cleaning and damp dusting
* Cleaning bathrooms and toilets, emptying bins
* Use of mechanical floor cleaning machines
* Maintaining a clean and safe environment in both clinical wards and non-clinical areas
* Working as part of a team with flexible approach and good communication
* Using your own initiative as required
* Opportunities to work extra hours to cover sickness and staff holidays; job share would be considered
