We are looking for a Female Support Worker to join our supported living service based in Hamworthy, Poole.
For genuine occupational reasons, we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
We provide support between 7am - 10pm, so this role will include a mixture of days, evening shifts, and possible sleep-in shifts. This role includes weekend work.
The individual you will support is confident and enthusiastic about going out in the community and needs to be supported on a 2 to 1 basis. They are deafblind and hold a tenancy for their own home.
This individual has a team supporting her 24/7, with 6 hours of daily 2:1 support for community access plus a sleep-in staff member. They communicate using BSL signs, PECs (Pictorial Exchange System), photos, and gestures. They are energetic and fun-loving, with a weekly schedule of activities including walks, café visits, trampolining, cinema, Gateway Club, short breaks, and holidays. They also enjoy activities like theatre visits, themed days out, winter garden lights in Bournemouth, and fireworks.
