Position: Shift Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor
Reporting to: Head of Maintenance and General Manager
Working hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday - Friday (and emergencies)

Experience & Skills - Essential
* Proven experience in domestic repairs or general residential construction, particularly in plumbing, electrical, or carpentry trades
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
* Friendly, professional, and helpful attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
* Reliable team player with a positive mindset and ability to work independently
* Skilled in identifying cost-effective repair solutions
* Experience overseeing contractors and suppliers
* Highly organized with strong multitasking and prioritization abilities
Knowledge & Qualifications
* A recognised trade qualification, Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City and Guilds, or NVQ relevant to repairs and maintenance in residential buildings
* A reasonable level of general education with demonstrable written and numerical skills, preferably at least GCSE level or equivalent
* Knowledge of H&S requirements on site and/or relevant qualifications
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate within a supportive team to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and maintenance
* Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and contractors
* Monitor and manage maintenance tasks via Basecamp, ensuring timely completion and quality standards
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities
* Ensure stock levels of supplies and plan for replenishment
* Respond to emergency maintenance issues outside of office hours when needed
* Perform various repair and maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, lighting, and statutory testing
* Address health and safety concerns promptly
* Conduct regular inspections of communal areas and facilities
* Oversee contractors and suppliers for minor works, ensuring compliance with RAMS and permits
* Supervise external grounds for cleanliness and safety
* Manage statutory testing records and carry out PAT testing, emergency lighting inspections, fire alarm tests, and drills
* Follow safety procedures and report incidents
* Review and update site risk assessments with the GM
