Hours: Full-time for 10 weeks between January-July 2025, with the option of additional hours if interested.
Contract Type: Fixed term (with the potential for renewal based on performance and programme needs)
Salary: Rate of pay negotiable (Hartlepool United FC uniform provided, car parking available, and complimentary tickets to home fixtures)
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Schools Programme Lead Tutor to deliver our exciting 'Playing for Success' cross-curricular programme to primary school pupils. Based at Hartlepool United FC, this unique initiative combines education with football to inspire learning and personal growth.
This role may be ideal for a recently qualified or recently retired teacher or L3/L4 teaching assistants and teachers currently working as supply who are looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in a dynamic and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging, cross-curricular lessons to primary school pupils participating in the 'Playing for Success' programme.
• Create a positive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, teachers, and school staff.
• Support the social, emotional, and educational development of all learners.
• Plan and adapt sessions to meet the needs of different age groups and abilities.
• Promote the values and ethos of Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation at all times.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting as required.
Person Specification
Essential:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Level 3 or Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification.
• Experience of teaching or supporting learning in a school or similar setting.
• A keen interest in football and using sport as a tool to support learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage groups effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
• Experience of delivering cross-curricular or sports-related learning.
• Experience of working in partnership with schools or community organisations.
• Knowledge of the local education landscape and school engagement.
