Job Title: Fabricator Workshop

Hourly Rate: £18phr
Shift: Monday to Friday, Min 40 hours per week

Job Purpose
The Fitter/Fabricator is responsible for performing planned and reactive maintenance tasks, fabricating, and fitting components and assemblies, and ensuring plant and equipment operate safely and efficiently. The role combines basic mechanical maintenance, fitting, fabrication, and troubleshooting to support operational uptime and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plant machinery, equipment, and site infrastructure.
* Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical components (cutting, welding, drilling, grinding, etc.) to support repairs or modifications.
* Carry out fitting duties, including dismantling and reassembling machinery and equipment.
* Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including completed work, parts used, and time spent.
* Adhere to all site safety procedures and regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
* Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, engineering, health & safety) to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
Skills And Competencies
* Strong mechanical fitting and fabrication skills (cutting, welding, grinding, assembly).
* Problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
* Familiarity with health & safety practices and risk assessments in an industrial environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
