The Year 3 Teacher will be involved in curriculum planning before January 2026, attend a robust induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as the Year 3 Teacher. Year 3 Teacher What you will do
The Year 3 Teacher will plan and deliver coherent sequences in mathematics and English, using well-designed retrieval practice and scaffolded tasks. The Year 3 Teacher will design practical science enquiries and project-based foundation units that build substantive knowledge. The Year 3 Teacher will use assessment to identify gaps and lead targeted interventions, working closely with teaching assistants and phase leaders from January 2026.
Day-to-day and wider responsibilities
Mornings: the Year 3 Teacher will deliver focused English and maths sessions that develop fluency, vocabulary and reasoning. Afternoons: the Year 3 Teacher will lead foundation topics, creative projects and hands-on learning. The Year 3 Teacher will also organise educational visits and enrichment activities designed to extend learning beyond the classroom — activities the Year 3 Teacher will prepare for prior to January 2026 and run after January 2026.
