Our client is a leading engineering design consultancy, they are are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join the team. You will take responsibility for the design and coordination of a wide range of civil engineering projects, working closely with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams. The role involves both technical expertise and management, providing opportunities to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Design of highways, junctions and foul and surface water drainage systems
* Hydraulic modelling, cut and fill analysis, and infrastructure coordination
* Regular liaison with clients, statutory bodies and other professionals
* Attendance at meetings with clear, effective communication
* Supervising and mentoring less experienced team members
Skills and Experience
* Typically 5 years or more professional experience in civil engineering design
* Working towards, or already holding, Chartered Engineer status (ICE or equivalent)
* Proficient in hydraulic modelling, and experienced in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
* Strong understanding of relevant design standards and best practice
* Experience with Section 278, Section 38, Section 104 and Section 185 agreements
* Demonstrated experience working with statutory bodies and external stakeholders
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proven ability to collaborate and support team development
The successful candidate will have achieved a degree in civil engineering with a least 5 years site based experienced post-graduation and be working toward in incorporated and/or Chartered Engineer status. The candidates experience will include full time site supervision of marine and civil engineering (reinforced concrete and steel marine structures reclamation) and with an emphasis on quality assurance processes and requirements.
The position will be as Deputy Engineer under a FIDIC contract and experience of working with an international contract framework would be advantageous
