Head of Sales & Business Development

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 DOE + Bonus
The Job
Kirby Cattle Services Ltd has experienced significant growth in recent years, delivering specialist concrete grooving solutions across the UK and Europe. As part of our continued expansion plans, we are now seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Head of Sales & Business Development to help lead the next stage of growth.
This opportunity would suit an individual with experience supporting the rapid growth of an SME business — ideally from a turnover of circa £2m towards £20m+ — who enjoys developing systems, driving sales performance and building long-term customer relationships.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, thinks strategically and commercially, and wants to play a key role within an expanding agricultural business.
The Company
* Develop and implement sales and business growth strategies
* Build and manage customer relationships across the UK, Europe and the Middle East
* Identify new market opportunities, partnerships and revenue streams
* Support operational, process and system improvements as the business scales
* Work closely with the Managing Director, with the autonomy to implement new commercial ideas and strategies
* Represent the business professionally within the agricultural sector and at industry events
The Candidate
* Proven experience supporting the rapid growth and scaling of a business
* Strong background in sales, business development or commercial management
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
* Comfortable working within a fast‑growing SME environment
* Previous experience within the agricultural or service‑based sector is essential
* Self‑motivated, resilient and commercially driven
The Package
* £35,000–£40,000 salary DOE
* Performance‑related bonus structure
* Full‑time position, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
* Occasional weekend work required when attending agricultural shows and events
* Travel expenses covered
* High level of autonomy and opportunity to shape the role

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
