Are you looking for that next step in your career? Fancy a real challenge? Oakfield Short Stay Primary School is a 30 place SEMH pupil referral unit for Leicestershire County Council. We are looking for talented individuals to join our hard working and dedicated team at Oakfield (North) Shepshed and Oakfield (south) Earl Shilton to escort pupils in the minibuses to and from school and support the teaching and learning for pupils in our setting who have a range of SEMH needs.
About the Role
1. To escort pupils in the minibuses to and from school, with due regard for their safety and secure travel at all times in accordance with the relevant policies, procedures and good practice whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation
2. To promote inclusion
3. To provide support for the pupils in the classroom and ensuring that the pupil is fully included in learning
4. To support the pupil across the curriculum, under the direction of the class-teacher and SENCO
5. To prepare resources for teaching as directed by the class teacher
6. To support the pupils in the playground, being mindful of their health and safety in relation to their Special Educational Needs and encouraging safe interactive play.
7. Provide positive reinforcements, praise and rewards.
8. To ready pupils for reintegration back in mainstream school.

About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
9. GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language
10. Experience within a primary school
11. Experience of working with the general public within a service provision environment
12. Experience of working with vulnerable groups
13. The ability to apply up to date legislation and practice in supporting inclusion for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs
14. The ability to work collaboratively with senior management, other staff, other agencies, and gain their confidence
