Data & Assessment Department:
The Data Department is responsible for collecting, analysing, and disseminating accurate and timely information that supports the school's improvement priorities and educational outcomes. As the Data Manager, you will lead on all aspects of school data, including assessment cycles, progress tracking, reporting, and compliance with external requirements.
The department manages key systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Power BI dashboards, behaviour logs, attendance records, KS4 and KS5 performance measures, census submissions, and safeguarding-linked data oversight. Working closely with senior leadership, Heads of Department, pastoral staff, and teachers, the department is integral to shaping whole-school decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing the full data cycle, including assessment windows, progress reporting, and analysis.
• Producing high-quality data reports for SLT, governors, and subject leaders.
• Maintaining and updating key MIS platforms.
• Leading on statutory returns including school census and DfE submissions.
• Supporting teachers with data entry, assessment setups, and accuracy checks.
• Monitoring student performance, attendance analytics, and growth trends.
• Ensuring GDPR compliance and data accuracy protocols.
• Providing staff training on data systems and reporting tools.
The department is fast-paced and highly detail-driven. You will play an essential role in ensuring that every data point the school uses is accurate, timely, and meaningful.
Requirements:
• Strong experience in data management (school-based experience desirable).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with reporting dashboards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain data clearly.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance.
