We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Aberdeen for a Permanent Equine Veterinary Surgeon. This role is full or part time so they are flexible in terms of days per week. There is a 1 in 8 OOH rota with time back in lieu after working a weeknight and weekend on-call.

The role
14. The position is available on a part time or full time basis. So therefore they can offer a 2, 3 or more days per week. There is a shared 1 in 8 OOH where the Vet receives a half day off in lieu after working a weeknight on call and then they receive a Friday off after working a weekend on call.
15. The practice are looking for a confident and experienced Equine Vet.
16. The role involves a mixture of both leisure and competition horses. The position would involve a variety of duties which include ambulatory calls. The Vet will have the opportunity to work up their own cases within the practice clinics.
17. The position offers an exciting caseload as the practice receive referrals for orthopaedic, surgical and medical cases from other practices in the area.

19. The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
20. The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

21. Purpose built Equine practice with a team of 7 Equine Vets, 3 Nursing assistants and a non-clinical team. Some of the Vets hold certificates and this is encouraged. The practice are located close to the airport and the coast.
22. They are fully equipped with facilities including treatment room, sand school, 7 stables, trot ups, theatre and knock down box. They have diagnostics including digital radiography, ultrasound, lasers, endoscope and gastroscope.
23. They have visiting specialists in dentistry and orthopaedics.

Package
34. Salary: Up to £65, pro rata, commensurate to experience
35. Holidays: 6.8 weeks annual leave pro rata, increasing with service and birthday off
36. CPD: Generous allowance of £1, with 40 hours to attend
