Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Litigation Solicitor to join our team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of civil disputes and provide high-quality legal advice to clients while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and procedural requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception to conclusion
* Handling disputes including (but not limited to):
* Contract disputes
* Debt recovery
* Property litigation
* Landlord and tenant disputes
* General commercial disputes
* Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence
* Conducting legal research and advising clients on prospects of success
* Representing clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations
* Ensuring compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
* Engaging in settlement discussions and alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
* Maintaining accurate case records and meeting billing/financial targets
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships
RequirementsEssential:
* Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
* Experience in civil litigation
* Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
* Ability to manage a caseload independently
* Excellent drafting and advocacy skills
* Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable:
* Experience in legal aid (if applicable)
* Advocacy experience in court
* Experience with case management systems
* Business development or client networking experience
