An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Officer to provide a comprehensive support and daily business management service to the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) and assist them with their programmes of work both locally and nationally.
The successful candidate will prepare a wide range of high-quality reports, presentations, correspondence and other documents, undertake research and manage projects on behalf of the PFCC as instructed. They will also accompany and support the PFCC on external visits and events and assist in planning and supporting stakeholder visits to Essex as required.
You will bring to the role significant experience of providing support to senior leaders within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, through which you have gained considerable expertise in building and maintaining positive relationships, the trust and confidence of senior leaders and decision makers across a range of partners, including elected politicians.
You will be able to deal swiftly and discretely with confidential and sensitive issues and problems, with the confidence and competence to deal professionally and diplomatically with difficult and / or emotional members of the public, ensuring the optimum outcome for them, the PFCC and their office. Our Location:
Officers based at Kelvedon Park, which provides onsite parking opportunities. The PFCC offers agile working which designates that certain roles can offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including some home working.

The specific requirements of this role will be discussed during the interview stages with candidates. The extent of flexibility will be agreed through individual assessment with the line manager to assess operational requirements and individual’s suitability for home working. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend the contractual workplace, as agreed with the line manager.
