Lakeside Mental Health Unit, Hounslow
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated leader to take on the role of Team Manager in our new Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service (MHCAS) at Lakeside.
As Team Manager, you’ll provide strategic and clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and recovery-focused care for people in mental health crisis. You’ll oversee service delivery, staff development, and governance, while driving innovation in urgent and crisis pathways and building strong partnerships with system-wide services.

We’re looking for someone with:
1. Significant experience in mental health services (Crisis, Inpatient, Liaison, HBPoS).
2. Proven leadership and management skills at Band 7 or equivalent.
3. Strong clinical expertise, decision-making, and service development experience.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
5. Registered Mental Health Nurse (RNMH) or other professional qualification
6. Registered on the NMC register or Social Work England or HCPC
7. Recognised teaching qualification, eg; ENB 998, Mentorship, PGCE, Cert.Ed.
Desirable criteria
8. Master’s Degree in a relevant subject area Or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
9. An NVQ assessor or willing to work towards accreditation
10. Leadership or management qualification NMP/AMHP/CBT/DBT qualifications
Experience
Essential criteria
11. To be band 7 for at least 1 year post qualification
12. Demonstrable experience at band 7 or equivalent.
13. Significant experience in a variety of MH settings as a qualified nurse/OT/Social Worker, (which include HBPoS ,Crisis Team, Liaison, Inpatient )
14. Experience of undertaking clinical assessments, which include formulation and independent decision making.
15. Delivering Clinical supervision/ reflective practice to nursing as well as other professionals.
16. Multi-disciplinary team working.
17. Experience of managing and supervising staff

18. Experience of undertaking audit, research and quality improvement
19. Experience of contributing to policy and procedure development and implementation
Knowledge
Essential criteria
20. Demonstrate a wide range of knowledge of the Mental Health Legislation and Framework.
21. Demonstrate a profound ability to assess, analyse and resolve complex clinical and operational issues
22. Knowledge of quality assurance.
23. Demonstrate the ability to assess, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care for individuals experiencing acute mental distress.
24. The ability to use a range of therapeutic interventions with individuals in acute mental health crisis.
25. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation
26. An understanding of the Care Programme Approach and its application
27. Good communication skills
28. Ability to determine and reduce level of risk to self, clients and others
29. The ability to promote the Home Treatment Team to clients, other professional and non - professional groups.

36. Demonstrate knowledge of audit and research.

38. I.T. and Database skills with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet management.
39. Declared medically fit by the Occupational Health Department to perform the duties of the post.
