Job Summary
This is an exciting, newly created post within the Crawley Assessment and Treatment service. We are looking for a Specialist Grade (Psychiatry) to join the medical team. The post holder will be expected to provide senior medical input to the team.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will assess patients, risk assess, and formulate treatment plans. You will be available to the MDT for consultation and serve as the senior medical resource for the team. Expected to assist consultants in supervision and teaching of junior medical colleagues.
Medics enjoy access to weekly CPD sessions and a supportive supervisory structure, promoting workload balance. Opportunities exist to join Clinical Academic Groups, collaborate with the Trust Research Unit, co‑develop evidence‑based interventions, and engage in service improvement initiatives such as HDAT audit and pharmacist‑led projects.

Job Responsibilities
The post holder will provide senior medical services to the population of Crawley and surrounding areas, working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care.
Person Specification – Qualifications (Essential)
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
* Completed a minimum of 12 years' medical work (continuous or aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification.
* A minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years’ experience from other medical grades, including overseas, is accepted.
Person Specification – Desirable
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* MRCPsych.
* Additional clinical qualifications.
Eligibility (Essential)
* Section 12(2) MHA 1983 approved (or achieve within 6 months of appointment). If not already approved, obtain Approved Clinician (AC) status and be on the AC register.
Transport (Essential)
* Hold and use a valid UK driving licence or provide evidence of a proposed alternative.
