We are currently seeking a Locum Consultant Dermatologist for a fixed-term post at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. This role responds to the growing needs of our dermatology department, which covers East and West Berkshire, parts of Oxfordshire, and Hampshire, in a beautiful region including Henley and West Berkshire.
The successful applicant will support the delivery and development of dermatology services across Trust sites, with opportunities to explore subspecialty interests. The role involves providing specialist care, teaching, and contributing to departmental growth.
Main duties include:
1. Supporting current dermatology services and contributing to their development
2. Participating in on-call duties from 9 am to 5 pm
3. Engaging in clinical governance and academic meetings
4. Teaching medical students and trainees
5. Contributing to audits and maintaining professional development in line with GMC standards
Essential criteria include full GMC registration, membership of the British Association of Dermatologists, and full dermatology training. Desirable criteria include higher degrees, leadership experience, and a track record of academic publication.
Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English, work collaboratively, and demonstrate leadership and accountability. Please note that telephone interviews are not conducted, and applicants must be willing to travel for interviews. All new appointments are subject to a probationary period, and applicants must have appropriate UK professional registration.
