18+ Leaving Care Personal Advisor - Birmingham
Are you a passionate, dedicated Personal Advisor looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Personal Advisor to join a Leaving Care Team based in Birmingham.
Umbrella Rate: £18 per hour
Duration: 2 months initially
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.45am – 5.15pm, 36.5 hrs/week
Personal Advisor role: Full JD Available
1. Direct work with children in care and care leavers age 18-25 years, on a case management basis
2. This will involve the co-ordination, preparation and completion of pathway plans and supporting young people preparing for leaving independently into adulthood
3. Ensure that young people have an appropriate plan of service provision designed to meet their individual needs and these plans are drawn up in consultation with those young people, their social workers, carers, parents and staff from relevant agencies
4. Ensure that the necessary assessment and intervention is completed
5. Provide information and support to young people on an individual or group basis as appropriate
6. Keep in constant contact with the young people, noting process/ concerns
7. Respond to need as it arises, reporting any concerns where necessary
8. Assist in ensuring that all young people referred to the Service are involved in the assessment of their case
9. Work alongside appropriate services to identify and meet the needs of young people
10. Participate in the provision of a duty/referral service by the service and to advise young people and their referrers as part of this process
11. Maintain appropriate, accurate and securely keep recording of assessments, plans and other casework done
12. Keep up to date with new trends and developments in legislation, policy and practice in the areas of aftercare, accommodation, employment, benefits, and child care
13. Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the work of the Service
14. Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary
Essential Requirements
15. Recent experience working with Young People leaving care
16. Ability to work pro-actively in the attainment of good outcomes for children in care and care leavers
17. Ability to work to targets and timescales under pressure, and form positive working relationship and work co-operatively with other professionals, people in the community and young people
18. Ability to work flexible hours where necessary
19. Good written and verbal communication skills
20. You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
21. Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
