They are currently looking for an Operations Director:
Main Responsibilities
The Director of Operations (DOO) is responsible for overseeing daily operations while driving strategic transformation across clinical homecare services, wholesale, pharmaceutical supply chains, warehouse management, and AI development. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance with governance frameworks, and alignment with long-term organisational goals.
* Operational Leadership: Direct and coordinate daily operations across pharmacy, administrative, warehouse, and support functions.
* Supply Chain Management: Manage pharmacy, warehouse, wholesale, logistics partnerships, procurement, inventory control, and distribution efficiency, embedding lean practices and digital processes. ensuring adherence to MHRA, GpHC and NHS standards.
* AI Development & Integration: Lead the design, deployment, and scaling of AI solutions to enhance pharmacy operations, logistics, wholesale and warehouse automation.
* Strategic Transformation: Drive initiatives integrating AI frameworks into pharmacy, logistics, wholesale and warehouse operations.
* Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to NHS governance standards, ESG commitments, and regulatory requirements across pharmacy and warehouse operations.
* Resource Planning: Oversee workforce allocation, and resource optimisation to maximise efficiency.
* Budget accountability: Manage the budgeting process for pharmacy operations and ensure achievement of business key performance indicators.
* Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, implement continuous improvement strategies, and embed growth mindset cultures.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders to align operations with strategic objectives.
* Risk Management: Anticipate operational risks, design mitigation strategies, and ensure resilience in service delivery and supply chains.
What experience and skills are we looking for?
Key requirements:
* Proven leadership in healthcare, pharmaceutical, warehouse, or technology operations
* Strong expertise in automation and complex supply chains
* Solid understanding of NHS governance, MHRA/GPhC compliance, and ESG frameworks
* Experience with digital transformation or AI integration (advantageous)
* Excellent leadership, communication, and budget management capabilities
Qualifications & Skills
* Proven experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, warehouse, or technology operations.
* Expertise in Automation and supply chain management.
* Strong knowledge of NHS governance, ESG frameworks, and compliance overlays.
* Familiarity with AI development would be advantageous
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and resource allocation.
* Ability to foster psychological safety and growth mindset cultures.
Performance Indicators
* Operational efficiency improvements (measured by KPIs such as order flow, resource utilisation, warehouse throughput, and cost savings).
* Successful integration and scaling of AI solutions across pharmacy, logistics, and warehouse operations.
