Role Overview
As a Senior Consultant / Engagement Manager, you will play a dual role: leading client engagements from scoping to delivery while providing hands-on expertise in ITAM and/or ITSM (ideally around the ServiceNow platform). You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensure projects meet business objectives, and mentor junior consultants. This is a client-facing, delivery-focused position requiring both strategic and practical consulting skills, working within a large Government agency.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead ITAM/ITSM consulting engagements, from initial requirements gathering through to solution design, delivery, and post-project review.
* Act as primary point of contact for client stakeholders, ensuring strong relationships and high levels of satisfaction.
* Translate business needs into actionable ITAM/ITSM strategies, roadmaps, and operational improvements.
* Oversee project governance, scope, timelines, and budgets, ensuring successful delivery and measurable outcomes.
* Provide subject matter expertise in ITAM/ITSM frameworks, including ITIL, ISO 19770, and SAM/CMDB best practices.
* Conduct tool assessments and support technology selection, implementation, and optimisation.
* Mentor, coach, and support junior consultants in developing skills and delivering quality outcomes.
* Support business development by contributing to proposals, solution design, and thought leadership.
* Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements impacting ITAM/ITSM.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience (5+ years) in ITAM and/or ITSM consulting, ideally within a client-facing consultancy environment.
* Strong engagement management and delivery leadership skills, with experience managing complex projects and diverse stakeholders.
* Deep knowledge of ITAM practices (SAM, HAM, ITOM, Cloud/Flexera/SNOW, etc.) and/or ITSM processes ideally around ServiceNow (CMDB, Service Catalog, Incident/Change/Problem).
* Familiarity with common ITAM/ITSM tooling (ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, Ivanti, etc.).
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence at C-level.
* Solid understanding of ITIL and other relevant frameworks; ITIL certification desirable.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into pragmatic solutions.
* Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
* Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites across the UK (and potentially Europe).
* SC cleared - either present or has been in the past
