Community Care Assistant - Domiciliary Care
Location: Newry
Pay Rate: Monday - Friday - £11.90 per hour; Saturday & Sunday - £12.60 per hour; Bank Holiday: £13.00 per hour; PLUS 35p per mile mileage
Driving License and Access to a Vehicle is essential for this role.
Shifts available: Range of shifts available - part time & full time.
We do not currently offer sponsorship.
What Youll Do
Our community care assistants perform everyday tasks that hold significant value to our clients. You will aid them in living safer and more supported lives within their own homes, adhering to personalised care plans.
* Personal Care: Assist clients with daily personal hygiene routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral care.
* Help clients with toileting, continence care, and incontinence management.
* Assist with mobility, including helping clients move around their home, using mobility aids, and transferring from bed to chair.
* Health Monitoring: Assist clients with medication management, ensuring they take prescribed medications on time; observe and report changes in health or behaviour to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
* Daily Living Assistance: Assist with feeding if clients are unable to feed themselves.
* Companionship and Emotional Support: Provide companionship and social interaction to reduce isolation and loneliness; engage clients in conversation and activities to promote well-being.
* Care Plan Implementation: Follow individual care plans and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and family members.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure home environments are safe, adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control protocols; use PPE as required.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of care provided and report concerns or incidents promptly.
What Youll Need
* Compassion and empathy for client-centered care.
* Strong communication skills with clients, families, and healthcare team.
* Attention to detail for monitoring health changes and accurate care.
* Physical stamina for mobility assistance and physically demanding tasks.
* Basic medical knowledge of terminology, procedures, and emergency response.
* Previous healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.
