The Role
We’re looking for two Marketing Assistants to join our every growing Marketing and Communications team to work alongside the Marketing Manager and Partnerships Manager to support the development, delivery and evaluation of campaigns across our portfolio of events.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting traditional and brand marketing activity, helping to bring our events and mission to life through local marketing initiatives, partner activations and community engagement.
This role focuses on assisting with the execution of campaign ideas across offline channels, PR activity, partnerships and real-world experiences, while helping to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints. You’ll support the coordination of marketing materials, activations and event-day branding to maintain high standards across the Run For All and BTR portfolio.
Working closely with the wider marketing team, you’ll help ensure that traditional marketing activity is aligned with digital campaigns, contributing to integrated, impactful activity that inspires participation, drives event entries and strengthens brand affinity.
A perfect role for a new graduate or someone looking for an introductory role in the events industry, within marketing.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Activate key aspects of the marketing plans for all events
Lead on local marketing operations for each event
Lead on the execution of out-of-home (OOH) advertising campaigns
Develop and expand local partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders
Identify and secure contra-marketing partnerships with relevant businesses and organisations
Work alongside sponsors’ marketing teams to deliver joint campaigns and fulfil sponsor requirements including event day branding plans
Contribute creative ideas to campaigns while remaining commercially aware
Keep website listings up to date and accurate
Support the customer service manager with responding to participant enquiries and the management of the inbox
Manage supplier relations and logistics for finisher items; Medals, T-shir4ts and goody bag items
Coordinate event day activations such as massage partners and third-party activators
Experience & Background:
A self-starter who is passionate about marketing and eager to develop within the field
A college/university qualification in marketing, or experience in a similar role, is desirable but not essential
Confident creating copy and content
Data-driven, analytical and commercially aware
Strong communicator and team player
Creative problem-solver with confidence to share ideas and opinions
A love of sport and an energetic disposition
A full clean driving licence would be advantageous
Willing and able to work a number of weekends throughout the event season each year
