Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking to recruit new graduates or established Band 5 Occupational Therapists for an exciting rotational position. You will work across our expanded rotation covering Trauma and Orthopaedics, Elderly Medicine, Acute Medicine, Surgery, Stroke, Intermediate Care Services, Wheelchair Services, Palliative Care, and Acute Admission Avoidance Team.
Training and support will be provided by experienced Therapists in each specialty to help develop your skills. Please note, we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high number of applications.
Main Duties of the Job
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, and innovative Occupational Therapists interested in expanding their knowledge and skills across these areas. You will need sound clinical skills, a flexible approach, and excellent teamworking, organizational, and time management skills.
In each rotation, you will work within a team of Therapists who specialize in managing acutely unwell patients and rehabilitating patients recovering from critical illness, working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
You will join our dynamic team committed to holistic recovery and regaining independence following surgery or illness. We are dedicated to the continued professional and career development of all staff.
Rotations last 5 months and are designed to develop the specialist skills necessary to deliver high-quality care to a diverse group of patients.
About Us
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It offers inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital and a wide range of community services. The Manor Hospital houses the full spectrum of district general hospital services under one roof. A £170 million development was completed in 2010, with ongoing upgrades including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and an Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has enhanced emergency care facilities and capacity, providing nearly 5,000 square meters of additional clinical space.
