We are seeking a reliable and vigilant Security Relief Officer to join our team.
As a key member of our security provision, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our clients’ sites and ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and assets.
As a Relief Officer, you will be expected to provide flexible support across multiple locations within an hour’s travel of your home address by car, often stepping in to cover both planned and unplanned absences within our security teams.
You will be required to work a combination of day and night shifts, which may include weekends and bank holidays.
The Role
1. Responsible for the physical security of client premises
2. Conduct regular patrols
3. Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, taking appropriate action
4. Enforce access control and verify the identity of individuals on-site
5. Provide excellent customer service by assisting and guiding visitors
6. Maintain detailed and accurate records of security-related activities
7. Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
8. Ensure high standards at all times, maintaining the professional image of ISS
9. Undertake induction and training as needed
10. Promote a safe and secure working environment at client sites
About You
11. Valid SIA licence
12. Proven experience in security or a related field
13. Strong observational and communication skills
14. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively
15. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
16. Good knowledge of security protocols and procedures
17. Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
18. For vetting purposes: BS7858-compliant, documented 5-year employment/education history in the UK, plus 6-year address history in the UK
19. Valid driving licence
