About the Emergency Duty Team
The Emergency Duty Team is a critical part of our service to children, families and vulnerable adults in Oxfordshire. Operating outside of standard office hours, the team responds to the immediate help and support needs of those in our communities during emergencies. The team is based at Barton Children's Centre.
Responsibilities
* Ensure provision of out‑of‑hours emergency response and/or intervention to children, young people, families, vulnerable adults and other agencies, addressing safeguarding concerns and reducing risks until normal office hours resume.
* Provide out‑of‑hours advice and guidance to professionals working with vulnerable adults, children, young people and families.
* Serve as the first point of contact for professionals, children, families and vulnerable adults who have a concern and are making an emergency out‑of‑hours referral to statutory services.
* Contribute to and apply the Council’s strategy to support vulnerable adults, children and families through out‑of‑hours emergency responses.
* Deliver services in line with Oxfordshire’s principles and values, working with partners within the relevant legislative framework.
Qualifications
We expect the following:
* Qualified social worker with Social Work England registration.
* Experience gained from a statutory child protection service.
* Ability to manage competing demands, reflective and analytical, with proportionate decision‑making focused on the best interests of children and vulnerable adults.
