Cowper Care is seeking applications for the role of Activities Assistant/Healthcare Assistant for its Nursing Home in Dublin .
This is a Full-time position – 39 hours per week. Cowper Care is an equal opportunities employer

About The Role
The Activities Assistant/Health Care Assistant will:
* Maximise the independence of the resident and facilitate participation in activities.
* Organise and co-ordinate a varied activities programme that will promote independence, choice and dignity for our residents.
* Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, promoting their independence and equality at all times.
* Improve the intellectual, physical, psychological, spiritual and overall health of the people in your care through engagement in activities.
* Assist and encourage the residents to achieve their rehabilitation goals by involvement in activities.
* Activities need to be developed in conjunction with clinical team members to ensure they are safe and relevant to the residents’ requirements.
* Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities/aspects of daily living under the direction and supervision.
Applicant Requirements
* QQI Health Care Support Certificate
* Undertake relevant additional training e.g. SONAS and obtain such qualification within 12 months of commencement
* Minimum two years previous experience in a similar role working with the elderly

* QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support
Required Criteria
* Experience in a nursing home environment or relevant experience
