Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
Bringing together two big organisations is not a small task and it’ll take a while to fully integrate our systems, processes and approaches. That’s why you will notice the jobs here are still branded ‘Humankind’. Next year we’ll be fully integrating our recruitment systems but for now they are separate.
We are currently recruiting for a dynamic and committed individual to join our Criminal Justice Recovery Coordination Team based in North Tyneside Recovery Partnership.
About the Service
North Tyneside Recovery Partnership is part of Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS trust. CNTW and Waythrough work in partnership to offer support to those facing addiction within the North Tyneside area. The team is made up of skilled professionals providing both clinical and psychosocial support one to one and in group settings.
About the role
In this vital role with Waythrough, you will be working collaboratively alongside our partners National Probation Service, HMP Prison Service, Police and local Court’s teams to support individuals who require additional intensive support to engage with treatment services.
* You will offer tailored guidance in minimising harmful behaviour and, if required, support those into service should they need more substantial support.
* You will take a “whole person” holistic approach, ensuring that every service user’s package of care encompasses all areas of their wellbeing, not just their substance use, with the aim of achieving the best possible outcomes for every person.
If you have a strong understanding of the criminal justice system alongside drugs and alcohol support, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to empowering others, we'd love to receive an application from you.
We have an office base in Wallsend, however we provide outreach across the borough to ensure our services are accessible to everyone who needs them. There may be a requirement for you to provide outreach support occasionally and although a driving licence is not required for this role, it would be advantageous.
