<div><h3>EHS Specialist (Contract)</h3><p>Newcastle Upon Tyne</p><p>3-Month Contract</p><p>Up to 33.00 per hour</p><p>Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation for an experienced EHS Specialist to support their site in Newcastle on an initial 3-month contract.</p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environmental professional to join a busy operational environment and play a key role in driving safety standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Promote and maintain a strong Environmental, Health & Safety culture.</li><li>Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.</li><li>Assist with the development and implementation of safe systems of work and EHS procedures.</li><li>Deliver EHS guidance and training to employees and management teams.</li><li>Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required.</li><li>Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety, Environmental, and Fire Safety legislation.</li><li>Carry out Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and ergonomic assessments.</li><li>Support EHS reporting, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.
</li><li>Participate in EHS committee meetings and site safety initiatives.</li><li>Conduct MEWP inspections and ensure any defects are reported promptly.</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Degree, NEBOSH qualification, or equivalent Occupational Health & Safety certification.</li><li>Previous experience within an EHS, SHEQ, or Health & Safety role.</li><li>Strong knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.</li><li>Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations.</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.</li><li>Ability to work independently and build relationships across all levels of the business.</li></ul><h3>Desirable</h3><ul><li>First Aid qualification.</li><li>Experience within engineering, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.</li></ul><h3>Contract Details</h3><ul><li>Initial 3-month contract</li><li>Newcastle Upon Tyne</li><li>Up to 33.00 per hour</li><li>Immediate start available</li><li>Full-time hours</li></ul><p>If interested, apply now or call Ashleigh on (phone number removed)</p></div>
