We are working directly alongside this firm to search for a Director of Business Rates or established Associate Director that is ready to be promoted to help deliver their ambitious growth plans throughout the UK. This business, if not already, have a clear vision that they want to become one of the leading rating teams in the country utilising their already excellent reputation throughout the UK to build on and therefore this hire is crucial to that plan. Our client are looking to hire best in class talent throughout the business, UK wide and the plans to grow are extremely impressive. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN THIS ROLE? The role will be to work closely with the managing director and the wider directors of the firm to help grow the division and build a team In terms of work load, you will have access to a number of high quality clients from International retail brands, to major leisure and hospitality companies, industrial and general commercial office clients keeping the work incredibly varied. Our client are a specialist in anything obscure and do focus where they can away from bulk classes. Due to how busy the firm is, your client base will have a slight focus on Central London but dependent on your location you will have clients already across the UK you can tap into and also be able to develop your own “patch”. The majority of Inspections have already been carried out for non London work so a lot of clients just need to be serviced. If one of your questions is, would I need to bring work with me? The answer would be ‘no’ but great if you do! The business is bursting at the seams currently with new instructions so there will be no need to bring in additional work to begin with, (although desirable), but there is a need for the selected candidate to be entrepreneurial in order to help develop the division to reach its capability and future targets by networking and developing the brand in the market. Your main crux of work will be working on rating appeal including the preparation and submission of checks, challenges and appeals, negotiations with the Valuation Office, and settlement or appearance at Valuation Tribunal, and/or Lands Tribunal. However, as a Director you will be expected to generate and foster new relationships in order to promote services across the business into different divisions. This business prides itself on cross selling and sharing of contacts in order to benefit all parties and you can expect this in return a plenty. Other brief details of the role include: * Promote the firms company’s values and being aligned with its goals. * Manages client relationships in order to better develop yours and the firms reputation * Help drive business development within the team, seeking new profitable opportunities with existing or new clients not just for the business rates team but for all areas of the business. * Delivers all challenges and arguments in a clear and timely manner * Engaged and effective team player is key, taking an active part in the business rates team and the broader business WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED? * Substantial rating appeal experience, including the preparation and submission of checks, challenges and appeals.
