Position:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team in delivering high quality catering services to patients, staff, and visitors across the CSS East Sector.

Hours:

37 hours per week.

Monday Friday: Hours (7.5 hour shift) between 8.00am 6.30pm

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

What you will do:

Working closely with the Catering Management Team, the successful candidate will bring proven experience of working within a large-scale catering production environment. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering production across both Patient and Retail services, ensuring consistently high standards, robust compliance, and a positive team culture. Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

Essential Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must hold:
Intermediate Food Hygiene Diploma
City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 (or equivalent)
Certificate in Catering Management (or equivalent)
Experience and knowledge of working within a large scale cooking team
Strong knowledge of production and current food safety legislation and industry best practice
As Catering Production & Quality Coordinator, you will be expected to:

1. Provide proactive leadership, management, and direction to the catering production team
2. Support training, development, and competency assessment of staff

Maintain effective communication within the team and with internal and external stakeholders and maintaining reporting
responsible for ensuring compliance with:
COSHH requirements
Food safety regulations
Health & Safety policies
Environmental and sustainability standards
Ensure the highest standards of service delivery and customer care
Maximise income streams and identify opportunities to enhance service efficiency and value
